Tulisa Contostavlos has admitted that following her drugs bust she considered committing taking her own life as the stress became too much to bare.
The revelations form part of the BBC Three documentary Tulisa: The Price of Fame, which shows Tulisa admitting for the first time that she tried to commit suicide after she was charged with supplying Class A drugs. She said that she took a potentially lethal combination of pills and alcohol following a sting by The Sun on Sunday’s Mazher Mahmood aka The Fake Sheik.
Crying hysterically, she described the reporters as evil. “They’ve f****d me up good and proper. They’re killing me, they’re killing me, they’re f*****g killing me.
“I just want my life back,” she says. “They’ve ruined me. This would never have happened unless they created the situation. They made it happen.”
The case against her was based on a sting by journalists posing as film producers. They approached Contostavlos and promised her a role in a film with Leonardo DiCaprio. During the alcohol fuelled sessions, the singer stated that she could supply cocaine. The paper published their story on the former N-Dubz singer in a front-page exclusive under the headline “Tulisa’s Cocaine Deal Shame.”
Last week, the trial was thrown out of court when Mahmood, also known as “the Fake Sheikh” was found to have lied in court.
