Lord Sugar began a bitter and very public Twitter spat with X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos when he asked his 2.2m followers ‘who the hell this Tulisa bird’ was and what she has done. The two stars are attached in two of the biggest TV talent shows in the UK, but are now involved in one of the most public rows in the industry.
Lord Sugar also tweeted: “This Tulisa talks nonsense on X Factor, what qualifications does she have to judge singing talent. Please advise where I am missing the point.”
The tweets were posted while Tulisa had been performing at the V Festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex. During the show, she complained to fans about the ‘bloody British weather’.
The war of words continued when Tulisa replied directly to Lord Sugar’s Twitter account. She said: “Stick to judging on the Apprentice and I’ll stick to what I know – MUSIC.” She followed this with a hashtag that read: “It’s a NO from me”.
At one point, Tulisa also said: “As someone that came from nothing to something, maybe you should have a little more respect for people that have done the same. I have grafted from the age of 11 with my band NDUBZ, we wrote and produced all our music, sold 3 platinum albums, 3 sell out tours the last being an arena tour and a number 1 debut solo single!” It was obviously a detailed reply to Lord Sugar’s condescending question about her accomplishments.
The angry response was followed by a mellow tweet, this time directed to her fans. She said: “Soz about that tweet peeps. But that t*t has been bad mouthing me since last year!”
Lord Sugar retorted back: “What do you know? That is the point. Don’t insult me by comparing my humble beginnings with yours.”
Lord Sugar also criticized Tulisa’s fellow judge Louis Walsh in the same Twitter bout.
