Trial for Joss Stone murder and robbery plot adjourned

The trial of the two men accused of plotting to murder and rob Joss Stone has been adjourned. 

 

The two men, Junior Bradshaw, 31, and Kevin Liverpool, 34, are accused of conspiring to murder the singer last year. The trial, however, has been delayed to March next year. Judge Francis Gilbert gave the defence team more time to explore medical evidence regarding the case. The decision was also influenced by Junior’s being moved to a mental health unit in March of this year. 

 

Bradshaw and Liverpool, both from Manchester, were arrested in Cullompton, Devon on June 13, 2011 after they were seen driving around the village of Langford several miles from Joss’ home near Ashill. They were apprehended in a Fiat Punto. Both men deny the charges.

 

Joss, however, has said that she refuses to let the incident affect her life negatively. “There are a lot of crazies in the world,” she said. “Isn’t it weird? I mean, what an awful thing to do. But no, it’sfine, they’re just completely off their Charlie.”

 

“It’s weird because I live in the middle of nowhere. Well, that’s why they got lost, which is good. I do feel very safe where I live. I live in the house that I grew up in and I don’t ever plan on moving.” 

 

The murder and robbery plot didn’t seem to faze the singer, and for good reason. She added: “I love my home because there’s an extended family. I have four neighbours, one’s a neighbour with a shotgun, and I’ve got a great Rottweiler.”
