Experts have studied a year's worth of statuses from over 50 million Facebook users, to come up with the most mentioned words and phrases of 2010.
The list sums up the year nicely, rounding up the most talked-about topics and sought after subjects of 2010.
So have a look at the top ten; it makes interesting reading...
10. 2011
Users often take the new year as an opportunity to make new plans and to start over. As 1 January approaches, the mentions will continue to increase and more people include 2011 in their updates.
9. Airplanes
In 2010, Facebook users quoted the catchy lyrics of the international hit, Airplanes by Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams.
8. Mineros/Miners
The 33 miners trapped underground in Chile sparked three distinct bursts of activity during the year. When their ordeal finally ended, millions of users were posting about it; there are even 33 individual spikes on data which charts the resuces for each of the saved miners.
7. Games on Facebook
References to games played on Facebook appeared through this year's list, with the biggist trending phrase being "barn raising", due to popular game, Farmville.
6. Justin Bieber
Commonly referred to as 'Bieber Fever', the 15-year-old's pop career continued to grow through 2010.
5. Haiti
The earthquake on 12 January in Haiti affected those around the world, who chose to share their shock and concern with others on their Facebook accounts.
One lady from Boston was travelling in Haiti at the time and became trapped with a group of others. She updated her status to find out what was happening and to let her family know she was safe.
4. iPad and iPhone 4
These products were the most discussed of the year, with over 25million people choosing to talk about them via their Facebook status.
3. Movies
2010 has been the year of the big movie, with Inception, Toy Story 3, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Alice in Wonderland and Iron Man 2 the most discussed films. Experts claim that the popularity of the word 'movies' this year in particular was due to more and more people updating their status via mobile internet straight after seeing a film.
2. World Cup
The biggest sporting event in 2010. At key points in the competition, as many as 50 per cent of all status updates were related to the World Cup.
1. HMU
Short hand for "hit me up". By the end of this summer, HMU had 80,000 mentions on the site every day.
