Tom Cruise's new girlfriend Katie Holmes has sparked an engagement riddle - after hinting she wants to marry the heartthrob.

The former 'Dawson's Creek' beauty let slip she dreams about tying the knot with her new love.

The actress revealed at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie 'Batman Begins': "Look I can't lie.

"We have to talk about that, Tom and I. But it just makes me smile when you ask about that.

"I'm so in love with Tom and that's all that I care about. He's just the most amazing man in the whole world."

Other stars at the exclusive premiere included Holmes' co-stars Christian Bale, who plays the Caped Crusader, Sir Michael Caine and Liam Neeson.

Last month, Cruise admitted he wanted to marry the actress.

The Hollywood heavyweight made the shock confession to Oprah Winfrey after the US talk show host told him that Katie once revealed her dream as a young girl was to marry the 'Top Gun' star.

Tom, who at 42 is 15 years older than his new love, said: "Well I don't want to disappoint her. I'm going to discuss it with her. Honestly, I haven't had this kind of experience before."
