For 30 years, three women were allegedly held against their will in a house in Lambeth by a 67-year-old man and 67-year-old woman. The victims are 69-year-old Malaysian, 57-year-old Irish woman, and 30-year-old Briton who reportedly had no contact with the outside world throughout her life.
Reports confirmed that one of the women called Freedom Charity, which offers support to victims of forced marriages or honour-based violence. Anita Prem from the charity said that she told by the women that they were held in domestic slavery. She added: “The ladies were absolutely terrified of these people they were held by.”
The three presumed victims had access to their own rooms but were "very restricted on everything they could do.” She added.
Detective Inspector Kevin Hyland, from the Metropolitan police's human trafficking unit, said: "We applaud the actions of Freedom Charity and are working in partnership to support these victims who appear to have been held for over 30 years. We have launched an extensive investigation to establish the facts surrounding these very serious allegations."
