Forbes magazine has released the list of top 10 richest football clubs led by Real Madrid with an estimated value of £2bn while rival Barcelona ranked second.
Manchester United, the club which now occupies seventh place in the Premier League and also failed to secure UEFA Champions League Football, slipped to number three with an estimated worth of £1.65bn.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s value grew by a massive 41per cent to £1.1bn which helped see themselves promoted to fourth place.
Arsenal occupies the fifth spot ahead of London rivals Chelsea. Both Manchester City and Serie A champions Juventus saw significant growth in their value last year. AC Milan and Liverpool also make it to the list.
Forbes ranked the clubs based on Champion League prize money, television fees, and sponsorship revenues.
