The Rolling Stones, who have not made a public appearance together for four years, are set to break the dry spell on the day of the 50th anniversary of the band’s first gig. The famous group’s members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood will kick off their golden jubilee celebrations by spending time together after so long.
All four will come with their significant others, of course. FrontmanMick will grace the event with designer L’Wren Scott, his girlfriend, while guitarist Richards with his wife Patti Hansen. Drummer Charlie will be accompanied by wife Shirley, and less grounded guitarist Ronnie will tag along whoever is his newest squeeze for that night.
Aside from this, the group will also attend a gala preview for The Rolling Stones: 50, a photographic exhibit to be held at the Somerset House. The exhibit will feature images from the very first time the original band went onstage together, which happened in July 12, 1962 at the Marquee Club.
The original members of the band include Mick, Keith, as well as Brian Jones aka Elmo Lewis, Dick Taylor, Ian Stewart, and Mick Avory. All four have since left the band and have been replaced by Charlie and Ronnie.
Other old members who played with the band for some time are also expected to grace the event. These include longtime bass player Bill Wyman and the band's golden years guitar virtuoso Mick Taylor.
