He held the winner’s trophy high following his victory.
The Brit managed to beat world number one Novak Djokovic, of Serbia, after three hours and nine minutes of play.
Many people eagerly watched the pair battle it out on Sunday, and Prime Minister David Cameron was spotted in the crowd at Centre Court.
Actors Bradley Cooper, of The Hangover and Silver Linings Playbook, and Gerard Butler, of 300 and PS, I Love You, were also there. As well as Victoria Beckham.
And many watched from ‘Henman Hill’ or ‘Murray Mound’. Those watching from home could surely feel the tension also, especially during the final minutes of the game.
The result for Murray differs from last year when he was beat by Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final.
Following yesterday’s match, Murray posted on social network site Twitter: “Can't believe what's just happened!!!!!!!”
The Scot won the US Open 2012 as well as claiming gold at the London Olympics last year after winning the Singles Final.
