David Tennant is planning to quit 'Doctor Who'.
The actor - who plays the space travelling Time Lord in the hit sci-fi series - is afraid of getting typecast if he sticks with the role for too long.
He told 'Doctor Who' magazine: "There's an element of being in a long-running show that's a gamble because I am 35 now. You have to judge when it is the right moment to go."
Tennant - who took over the part from Christopher Eccleston - refused to disclose when exactly he is planning to depart but admitted he had a date in mind.
He added: "I think I now know how many series I am going to do. But I think it would be stupid of me to say more than that right now."
Tennant's original co-star Billie Piper - who played the Doctor's assistant Rose Tyler - quit the show earlier this year. She has been replaced by actress Freema Agyeman.
