Coronation Street bosses have strongly denied that two of the soap's most popular stars are quitting.
Nikki Sanderson, who plays hairdresser Candice Stowe, and Debra Stephenson, who plays Frankie Baldwin, were reportedly keen to pursue their careers outside the show.
However, a spokeswoman insisted: "Neither Nikki or Debra has any intention of leaving the soap. They are both having a ball."
Debra has also personally confirmed that she has no plans to quit the Street.
The 32-year-old was quoted at the weekend as saying she had received an offer to record an album with EMI following her performance on Comic Relief Fame Academy.
However, she told the Daily Mirror: "I have no intention of leaving. It's a thrill for me every time I walk down the cobbles."
Nikki was reportedly considering leaving with boyfriend Danny Young, who plays her on-screen love interest Warren Baldwin in the soap and who is leaving this summer.
