Legendary singer Rod Stewart is to become a dad for the eighth time - at the age of 66.
The singer's wife, photographer Penny Lancaster, 39, discovered she was pregnant
While they celebrated the couple's third wedding anniversary in Portofino, Italy, Stewart's wife, photographer and model Penny Lancaster, 39, discovered that she was pregnant.
Stewart and Lancaster have been together for over a decade and already have a four-year-old son Alastair. The former frontman of The Faces has six other children from previous relationships.
In a statement the couple said: "We were thrilled and delighted to be able to tell Alastair that he was going to be the big brother to a little baby, expected just before Mummy's 40th birthday."
A source added: "Penny and Rod are absolutely over the moon."
Penny said recently: "I think touring and running around interferes with things but we're still trying and have high hopes. Though once you get over 35 it takes longer."
The 'Maggie May' singer will celebrate his 66th birthday in January. He has five children by three ex wives - Kimberly, 30, Sean, 29, Ruby, 23, Renee, 18 and Liam, 16. He also has a daughter, Sarah Streeter who was put up for adoption back in 1964.
