In a Manchester street far far away, a Star Wars actor is preparing to join the cast of Corrie.
Silas Carson, who plays a variety of aliens in all three of the blockbuster prequels, has fallen back to earth with a slump - to play dog Schmeichel's vet.
The 40-year-old wears a green mask with red eyes for his part as Nute Gunray in the forthcoming Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, as he did in Episode I.
Carson can also be spotted behind a blanket of white makeup and fake facial hair as the "tall-headed" member of the Jedi Council, Ki-Adi-Mundi.
But according to the Daily Star, Carson has now moved from Jedi fighting to Street vetting, and will play a part in the moving scene where Chesney's Great Dane gets run over.
And an insider insisted to the newspaper that the actor was "really chuffed" to join the Street.
The vet is called in to help Schmeichel after bus driver Claire is distracted and only narrowly misses hitting Chesney, played by Sam Aston, before ploughing into the dog.
Carson's appearance comes only weeks after Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen joined the Corrie cast as dodgy writer Mel Hutchwright.
