The Spice Girls musical is to premiere in December, it has been revealed.
Viva Forever will open at the Piccadilly Theatre in shortly before Christmas, reports the Daily Mail.
It will replace Ghost the Musical, which is currently playing at the venue, and is believed to be closing this autumn as a result.
Auditions for the musical, written by Jennifer Saunders, will begin next month, while rehearsals are scheduled to start in September, for November previews.
Earlier in the year it had been suggested that the show would miss its 2012 launch date.
There had been press reports that the show had been delayed due to disagreements between Mel C and Mel B.
At the time, Mel C, tweeted her anger at the reports, saying that everything "was coming along beautifully", posting:
"Starting to get very irritated with reports that myself and @OfficialMelB are 'bickering' over the Spice Girls musical.
"Now @Grazia_Live are at it. Maybe I should cancel my subscription? Aaaaaaaarrrrrgggghhh!"
She added:
"The Spice girls musical is coming along beautifully and all of us girls, [Jennifer Saunders] and Judy Craymer are very happy!!!"
The show doesnÂ’t feature any of the Spice Girls, but all five are involved in the project, which centres on a mother and daughter relationship.
