During a particularly intensive training session, Hayley Tamaddon has slashed her Dancing On Ice partner Dan Whiston's wrists.

Whiston required medical attention when the ex-Emmerdale star's skates plunged into his arms.

According to The Sun, the 33-year-old professional skater had already ripped three shirts while attempting a lift, which will be included in this Sunday's upcoming routine.

Tamaddon was quoted as saying: "It was horrible and I felt really guilty. The metal hooks on my blades cut Dan. It's a really tricky move and if I get it slightly wrong it slashes his arm.

"I think I was more shaken than him. But we're determined to do it on the night, no matter what."

Whiston added: "It's a really tricky lift, which involves Hayley's skates skimming my arms. Ever since we've been training it's been ripping my shirt off - and now it's cut my arm."

Despite their tendancy to injure themselves, Tamaddon and Whiston finished top of the judges' scoreboard last weekend, with 26 points from the panel.
