Hollyoaks actor joins Coronation Street...

Former Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain will join Coronation Street in the New Year, Kym Marsh has confirmed.

Speaking in her column for New magazine, Kym Marsh welcomed the appointment of the 23-year-old, who played Justin Burton in the teen drama.

The actress said: "We're all pleased to welcome Chris Fountain to Corrie."

She added: "Chris was great as Justin Burton in Hollyoaks and I'm sure he'll be equally successful on Corrie. Jamie knows him well, so I've met him many times - he's a really nice guy."

Fountain, who was runner-up on Dancing On Ice two years ago, left the Channel 4 soap in 2009 to pursue other ventures.

His role in Coronation Street will be as Jack DuckworthÂ’s long-lost grandson, who is unaware of his grandadÂ’s death.
