Weather Network spokesman Richard Chapman has said that snow may be expected in the UK this weekend.
He said: "Wednesday is going to be a similar day to Tuesday with mild conditions affecting much of the country and a brisk southwesterly wind.
"Rain will be most persistent across Scotland, where it could be heavy at times.
"On Thursday more rain is forecast across Scotland with strong southwesterly winds but mild again at 10C to 15C.
"However there are hints of the weather turning colder by Friday as low-pressure passes to the north of Scotland with the risk of some sleet and snow on northern hills.
"The weekend looks set to see some heavy rain and strong winds over Scotland, northern England and Wales before turning milder again."
Meanwhile, Leon Brown, forecaster for The Weather Channel UK, warned severe gales could reach 100mph before the snow hits parts of Scotland, the Pennines, and Snowdonia on Friday.
He said: "There is a risk of severe gales on Thursday night as a deep area of low pressure rushes past northern Scotland.
"Gusts at lower levels on Friday morning will reach over 60mph across the north of Scotland and more than 100mph over the mountains.
"There will be a brief colder snap from Friday to Saturday with snow showers for the higher parts of the Scottish Highlands, Pennines and Snowdonia and blizzard conditions over the mountain tops.
"The rest of November will be unsettled and often very mild with a strong jet stream from the Atlantic."
