Samsung has filed a patent application for a smart contact lens that will allow users to control their smartphones using their eyes.
The patent has been filed in South Korea in 2014 and shows a contact lens equipped with built-in display, miniature camera, antennae and sensors that detect movement and blinking. The patent description says that the smart lenses will be used for augmented reality with the smartphone providing the necessary processing power.
Google owns patent for the same technology but it is focused on healthcare, particularly on biometric sensors that read blood sugar levels in the tears of its users.
