Skyfall is the most successful 007 movie to date.
The Daniel Craig-starring flick made £20.1million last weekend, making it the second best ever opening weekend at the UK box office.
The first spot belongs to Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 that raked in £23million during its first three days on general release.
Sony exec Rory Bruer was obviously happy about the result saying, as quoted by The Sun: “We are absolutely overwhelmed with the reaction to Skyfall this weekend. It is particularly thrilling as the UK is home to James Bond and it being the 50th anniversary year.”
Skyfall’s impressive performance at the box office is proof that Daniel Craig reigns supreme in taking the tough shoes of the superspy.
Because of this huge success, Skyfall writer John Logan is believed to be writing the next James Bond tale.
Skyfall will be shown at cinemas in the US on November 9th.
