Sir Cliff to sell his £3million home after police raid it following child abuse claims

Sir Cliff said that the house was violated by the police in child abuse raid.

On August 14, Sir Cliffs £3million home Berkshire penthouse was raided by police officers in connection to child abuse claims. The detectives searched the house as the BBC broadcasted live images of the raid around the world. Sir Cliff, who was reportedly appalled with the move and who said that the house was violated during the raid, has decided to put his home in the market. 

 

One of his friends said: 'He is putting the place on the market because he feels it has been violated by the search. He says he feels it's akin to having your home ransacked by burglars.

 

'He is a totally innocent man, yet several officers went into his home without any warning, in view of the news cameras, and rifled through his effects.'

 

Although the house cannot be put on the market just yet because of the ongoing police inquiry, reports say that Sir Cliff is anxious to move it as soon as possible. 

 

He is currently staying at his holiday home in the Algarve after being voluntarily questioned by South Yorkshire Police last month. 

 

He angrily denied the allegation dating back to 1985.
