Singer Anastacia to divorce

The 'I'm Outta Love' star will split from her bodyguard husband...

Pop singer Anastacia has filed for divorce, it has been reported.

According to RadarOnline.com, the 'I'm Outta Love' singer has filed papers to legally end her marriage to bodyguard Wayne Newton.

She is citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple have no children together and married in April 2007. However, they didn't sign a pre-nuptial agreement.

Anastacia had previously spoken of her happiness at being married, but did admit that couldn't see exactly where it was going or how long it would last.

She said: "There is a totally different vibe being married. I have wonderful security and hope we'll grow old together. I'll be sitting there with my crows feet and about two feet shorter. I really love being married.

"I'm not claiming I'm going to make it forever. I'm just saying that I'm going to try. We both have no idea what the situation is going to be like in ten years."

The 41-year-old singer also said in the past that she was happy being a stepmother to her husband's children, rather than trying for their own.

She said: "Wayne and I have chosen not to have children. My husband has two boys already that I've grown very close to. It's an aspect of my life that I've chosen not to explore."

The 'Left Outside Alone' songwriter overcame breast cancer in 2003, after a routine mammogram prior to back surgery revealed the disease. She has since set up The Anastacia Fund to highlight the importance of mammograms to women 35 and under.
