Pop starlet Jessica Simpson looks set to act in the next James Bond movie.

The star of reality television series "Newlyweds: Jessica And Nick", Simpson, 23, has reportedly been approached by producers of the new Bond film - to play the legendary spy's love interest.

A source has revealed: "Jessica is being mentioned as a possible Bond girl.

"They really want Catherine Zeta-Jones but it doesn't look like she's going to be available."

Britney Spears is another star studio bosses are interested in - but they realise that securing the global superstar's services is unlikely.

The studio insider added: "Britney's just too well known for other things even though she has the kind of popularity with kids the producers are looking for."

The film looks like it will be the last outing for current Bond, Piece Brosnan. The Irish star has kept tight-lipped on who will be "working with him" in the 21st Bond film - but said that, if he had the choice, Keira Knightly would be high on his wish list.
