Natalie Holt, the woman who pelted Simon Cowell with eggs during the live Britain’s Got Talent final, has apologised for her actions as of time of writing.
She said: “I want to apologise to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realised it was a silly thing to do.”
Holt, who appeared together with her band on the talent show last year, jumped in front of the stage as brothers Richard and Adam were performing.
A spokesman for the show told MailOnline:“During tonight’s show an incident took place during the finale of Richard and Adam’s performance.”
Adding: “Natalie Holt (age 30) was part of the backing group for their performance and as a result of her misguided actions the police were called. However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage.”
Natalie Holt later explained her action saying it was a protest of Simon’s dreadful influence on the music industry.
She explained, as referred to one report by The Mirror: “I have no desire to be famous and I'm not an attention seeker. My actions were intended as a non-violent, egg-based protest because I think Cowell has too much power and influence in the entertainment industry.
“I also just wanted to make him look a bit silly. I hoped it would come across as a British panto-style jape, which might also generate some more serious debate.”
