Simon Cowell has changed the upper age limits for the categories Boys, Girls, and Groups after he got angry that many talented performers were being overlooked. He raised the age limits from 25 to 28, while the fourth class will now include those who are over 28 years of age.
This means that those who are aged 26, 27, and 28 can now get their chance at making it to this year’s The X Factor.
Sources say, however, that Cowell changed the limits because “last year’s crop of wannabes was awful, largely because there were too many youngsters.”
The source added that even though a lot of girls and boys in their late twenties auditioned for the show, there was “no room for them because the Over-25s category had to have the quirky older ones in it to make it work.”
In a nutshell, “the show basically snookered itself.” Simon decided to make certain adjustments in order to save the show. Sure enough, producers are gearing up for what they are expecting to be one of their best ever shows.
And to make sure the show produces better stars, this years’ Boot Camp will also be tougher. Aside from singing, Simon will also pay attention to styling and dancing.
