Shia LaBeouf storms out of Berlin press conference, wears paper bag to premiere

The actor walked out of the news conference after he was asked about the explicit sex scenes on his new film.

US actor Shia LaBeouf has walked out of the news conference of his new film Nymphomaniac after he was asked about the explicit sex scenes in the movie. 

 

Before leaving, he quoted Eric Cantona’s famous 1996 line: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea." 

 

His co-stars Christian Slater and Uma Thurman laughed about the comment and joked that the script contained a lot of sardines. 

 

Later, the actor, who is known for films including Wall Street II and the Transformers franchise, appeared on the red carpet wearing a paper bag on his head. Written on it were the words: “I am not famous anymore.” 

 

Meanwhile, the controversial two-part film Nymphomaniac has received rave reviews with the website Indiewire saying: "Out what should be discordant, salacious, self-indulgent and ugly, Von Trier... has crafted something witty and clever and thrilling."

 

Writing in The Guardian, critic Xan Brooks says of it that it "bludgeons the body and tenderises the soul - it is perplexing, preposterous and utterly fascinating."
