Spike Lee's latest offering opened in UK cinemas this week and is set to battle it out with the likes of Hero and Wimbledon over the weekend.
She Hate Me tells the story of a down on his luck New Yorker who lets his lesbian girlfriend pimp him out as a sperm donor.
Despite some mixed reviews, Lee's movies are always popular with seasoned moviegoers.
Hero, starring Jet Li, will also be in the running for a share of this weekend's cinema traffic.
The visually spectacular movie, backed by Quentin Tarantino, sees Li retelling tales of epic battles with a series of striking adversaries in ancient China.
The British offering this week is Wimbledon, starring Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst as a pair of tennis players looking for success on the court and finding love off it.
Cellular finds Kim Bassinger falling victim to some nasty kidnappers and having to rely on stranger Chris Evans to help her.
The claustrophobic thriller also features British actor Jason Statham and the excellent William H. Macy.
The newcomers will be hoping to challenge Tom Cruise's Collateral for top spot in the UK box office charts.
