Scarlett Johansson says she loves being called sexy - but admits she doesn't always feel desirable.

The screen beauty - who is romancing heartthrob actor Josh Hartnett - says she's thrilled when men find her attractive.

She said: "It's nice when people tell you you're sexy. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. Hopefully I'll remain sexy for some time."

But Scarlett confessed it can be tough living up to the image.

She revealed: "I know what I look like when I wake up in the morning after three hours sleep.

"Sometimes I feel, 'OK, this is a good day', and other times I wake up and think, 'Oh my God, I need a hat today'."

She added: "So when people say you're sexy, especially when you're having one of those, bad days, it is definitely a nice thing to hear."

The actress, who lives in New York, also revealed she struggles to cope with the attention now she's so famous - but tries to lead a normal life.

She is quoted by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I don't want to have to live a crazy life where I'm followed around by an entourage of people."
