Disney star Selena Gomez is said to be at subsequent risk of danger, after her stalker admitted he has daily "coversations with god" about killing her.
Thomas Brodnicki was seen in court last month after threatening to kill the 19-year-old singer, but walked free on bail with a temporary restraining order until a hearing in January.
The stalking charge was dropped because the prosecutors could not prove he had caused Selena fear.
The judge reportedly did not issue a lengthier order because Brodnicki is a patient at a psychiatric unit and so has not been able to attend court or be represented any earlier.
However, yesterday, at a review of the case, an extension was issued on his current restraining order after Brodnicki told the court:
"I believe that a restraining order should be issued against me because I know it is the only thing that will make me stay away from Selena.”
He also said that he has "over 50 conversations with God a day about killing Ms Gomez".
The extension means he is not allowed within 100 yards of the teen star.
A court hearing has been set for 6 January 2012, though Brodnicki has said he will not attend.
