See video: Jay Z physically attacked in elevator by Beyonce's sister

Rapper Jay Z was apparently attacked by his Beyonce's sister in a cramped elevator as his wife looked on.

CCTV footage appears to show rap artist Jay Z being attacked by his wife Beyonce's sister in a small lift in New York. 

 

The video of the attacked obtained by TMZ apparently shows Solange Knowles (sister to pop icon Beyonce) furiously hitting Jay Z before security intervenes. She then appears to calm down before punching and kicking the 99 Problems singer. 

 

Surveillance from the elevator in the Standard Hotel in New York captured the altercation. 

 

During the ordeal, the bodyguard between them appears to press the emergency stop button in the lift. 

 

The incident apparently took place last week when the trio was attending an afterparty for the 2014 Met Gala Ball.

 

No official comments from the musicians in question have been released but the hotel has issued a brief statement condemning the leaked footage.
