Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox has announced her third pregnancy. She broke the news first on Twitter and then on her live radio programme.

She wrote: "How terribly modern of me to say this on twitter! Wanna share with you just before I do it live on air: I'm pregnant & over the moon xxx."

Cox, 34, then told listeners she and partner Ben Cyzer, 32, were "beside themselves with happiness". The sex of the unborn child is unknown, but the couple have two children already - Lola, four, and Issac, one.

The baby is due next spring. Sara met advertising executive Ben after the failure of her marriage to Lola's father Jon Carter.

Cox had previously stated her ladette days are behind her, as she now adores the role of motherhood in her life. She said:: "All my priorities have changed. I appreciate calmness and feeling secure."

Fellow DJ Jo Whiley is expecting her fourth child next month.
