Film producers have confirmed that Sam Mendes will direct the 24th James Bond film that is expected to be released in 2015. Mendes is the director of the hugely successfuly Daniel Craig-starrer Skyfall, which broke box office records in the United Kingdom.
In a statement the producers said: “Following the extraordinary success of Skyfall, we’re really excited to be working once again with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and John Logan.”
Gary Barber, Chair and Chief Executive, Metro-Goldwyn-Maye, added: “We are thrilled to reunite the extraordinary talents of director Sam Mendes with our star Daniel Craig for the next great Bond adventure”
Mendes said he was “very much looking forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time.”
He added: “I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24.”
Mendes previously said that he will not be able to direct the next Bond film due to previous commitments.
