A Spanish company has created a battery-operated surfboard that allows users to surf in sea, river, and lakes even without any waves.
Spanish company Onea has been working on its battery-operated surfboards since 2013 and its efforts have led to the creation of the Carver and Mantra surfboards, which are said to be the most silent.
Between the two surfboards, Carver is recommended for serious surfers. It looks exactly like the traditional surfboard and can travel at significant speed. Speed and direction is controlled by a hand-held remote.
The Mantra board, on the other hand, travel at a maximum of 5 mph and is designed specifically for cruising. It’s battery life is about two hours while Carver’s is 20 minutes when pushed to the limits.
Interested buyers must pre-order the surfboards, which have the following tag price: The Carver is for £2,430 (€3,450) while the Manta is priced as £2,571 (€3,650).
