Russia arrests US Ryan Fogle

Ryan Fogle has been arrested on suspicion of spying

US diplomat Ryan Fogle was taken in by Russian police on Monday after Russian officials claim he was trying to gain information.

 

Mr. Fogle, a body at the US embassy in Moscow, Russia, allegedly had on his person two wigs as well as pairs of glasses among other items, according to the Russia's Federal Security Service.

 

A photo of the items was revealed by Russia Today.

 

Reportedly, it is believed there are claims from some Russians that Mr. Fogle is linked to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously said Mr. Fogle was given over to members of the American authorities, and also that he would be sent out of the country.

 

The Foreign Ministry of Russia previously said, as quoted by The Independent: “A classic spy arsenal was discovered, as well as a large sum of money that doesn’t just expose a foreign agent caught red-handed, but also raises serious questions for the American side.”

 

Now, the US ambassador is expected to be called to speak with foreign ministry in Russia. This comes as authorities in America and Russia work on the crisis regarding Mr.Fogle.
