Prince George, the first born of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London.
The names of his 7 godparents were announced ahead of the ceremony.
They are Prince William’s cousin Zara Tindall who is married to former England rugby international Mike Tindall, Emilia Jardine-Paterson who went to Marlborough College with the duchess, Prince William’s childhood friend William Van Cutsem, Oliver Baker who went to St Andrews University with the duke and the duchess, Julia Samule who was a close friend of Princess Diana, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the former private secretary to the duke and duchess, and Earl Grosvenor who is the son of the Duke of Westminster.
The prince and princess of Cambridge were reportedly joined by the prince’s parents, Prince Harry, the princess’ whole family, and their close friends at the palace’s Chapel Royal.
It has been revealed that Prince George was christened in a replica of a gown worn by Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841.
The third in line to the throne, Prince George, son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was born in London on 22 July.
