Ross and Rachel's first kiss in 'Friends' has been voted the best TV smooch ever.
The romantic clinch between the couple, played by David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston, topped a poll conducted by America's TV Guide magazine.
The pair's long-awaited kiss, which took place at the end of the second series, was closely followed in the survey by the smooch between forbidden lovers Father Ralph and Meggie, played by Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward, in '80 series 'The Thorn Birds'.
Third in the poll was Sam and Diane's kiss in 'Cheers', while Carrie Bradshaw's lip-locking with Mr Big in 'Sex and the City' ranked fourth.
The steamy encounter between Kate (Evangeline Lilly) and bad guy Sawyer (Josh Holloway) in cult show 'Lost' was voted fifth in the survey, while Buffy's clinch with vampire Spike came sixth.
The kiss between Sydney and Vaughn - played by one-time lovers Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan - in 'Alias' also ranked in the poll.
Other smooches to make the top ten were Susan and Mike in 'Desperate Housewives', lovestruck teens Pacey and Joey in 'Dawson's Creek' and Marissa and Ryan in 'The O.C.'.
