Due to advanced technologies and modern innovations, the building construction industry is more likely to go robotic in the near future. This means that instead of dozens of men in hard hats and high visibility jackets, construction sites will be filled with 3D printers, drones and robotic bulldozers programmed to work together to complete given tasks.
That at least is the hope of those making technological solutions. Before this can be realised though, the traditionally risk-averse construction industry must be convinced that such change is really necessary.
In different parts of the globe, technological innovations are now being used in building various structures. In the US, for example, a company called Skycatch is using drones on some of its high profile building projects while Japanese construction machinery giant Komatsu is using drones for automated bulldozers.
Skycatch's chief executive Christian Sanz said that such technology could kickstart a robotic building site.
"The more visible data that you have on a site, the more you'll see machines and robots moving things around rather than humans."
