Star of Mock the Week Andy Parsons is back on the road with his new stand-up for 2011, Gruntled.

Clever, witty and sharp, Parsons is somewhat of a welcome change from the over-the-top slapstick that has come back to the comedic forefront of late.

He's usually overshadowed by his flashier, louder peers on the topical BBC Two panel show, but he proves in this stand-up that hes not to be underrated or indeed overlooked.

The funnyman mixes his usual topical messages with a few personal anecdotes, dicussing the NHS, the US far-right Tea Party and the Islamic call to prayer, among other topics - but it all works.

However, if you're looking for innovation, there's nothing adventurous about Gruntled, but that's not really the point. There are big laughs here and there, refreshingly mainly aimed at British public and political life.

If your a Parsons fan, you'll know what to expect and you won't be disappointed. Even those who wouldn't neccessarily class themselves as a fan, trust me; give him a chance; we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
