Angelina Jolie has hinted that she may retire from acting after starring in a forthcoming epic story of Cleopatra.
The 38-year-old mother-of-six said that she became an actress because her late mother wanted her to but she’s more passionate about directing and her philanthropy work.
Talking about taking on the role of Cleopatra, she said: 'It's one of those that you feel like well, maybe that's the one you put everything into and that's where you end it, that's where you finish.”
The actress, who currently stars in Disney's dark fantasy Maleficent, confirmed in a radio interview that the biopic of the popular historical figure Cleopatra has been in development.
She told BBC Radio 5 Live: “We've been working on it.”
“There have been lots of different ideas of directors and lots of different discussions.”
Among those who expressed their interest in directing the film includes Hollywood A-list directors Ang Lee and David Fincher.
Jolie also confirmed that writer Eric Roth, who wrote the scripts for Forrest Gump, The Horse Whisperer and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (starring her partner Brad Pitt), is working on the screenplay.
