Renée Zellweger has split from husband Kenny Chesney - after just four months of marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot in a romantic beach ceremony in May, have had their marriage annulled - with the actress citing "fraud" as the reason.

Her spokeswoman confirmed: "They are having their marriage annulled. There is no further comment."

While a publicist for country singer Chesney added: "It was a mutual decision."

The pair shocked the showbiz world when they tied the knot in a whirlwind 15-minute ceremony at Chesney's home in the Virgin Islands after a secret romance of just five months.

However, it wasn't long before rumours surfaced claiming their marriage was in trouble.

Last month, it was alleged the newlyweds were having crisis talks after spending just 15 days together since their wedding.

Renée tried to insist everything was fine at the recent London premiere of her new movie, 'Cinderella Man'.

She said: "I'm happily married but I don't want to talk about it because I want to keep my precious things precious."

But, tellingly, the actress - who has previously dated White Stripes rocker Jack White and Jim Carrey - walked the red carpet alone.

She claimed Chesney was busy working, saying: "He's just finishing work."
