Reese Witherspoon is the highest earning actress in Hollywood.

The 'Pleasureville' star now earns a minimum £18 million per film.

The mum-of -two gatecrashed the elite list, smashing the previous record set by Julia Roberts (£14m), knocking the 'Pretty Woman' star into second place.

Witherspoon - who is best known for romantic comedies including 'Legally Blonde' and 'Sweet Home Alabama' - is also in line to win an Oscar on Sunday (05.03.06) for her role in the acclaimed Johnny Cash biopic, 'Walk The Line'.

Third place on the list goes to 'Charlie's Angels' actress Cameron Diaz (£11m), while Drew Barrymore and Nicole Kidman (£10m) came in joint fourth.

Singer-turned-actress Jennifer Lopez (£8.5m) takes sixth place, followed by Oscar-winner Halle Berry (£7m). Eighth place is another tie between Angelina Jolie and Renée Zellwegger (£6m).

The top ten is rounded off by former 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston (£4m).
