Reese Witherspoon's shutterbug ordeal

Reese Witherspoon was left fearing for her safety on Friday (15.04.05) after being cornered by paparazzi photographers as she left a gym.

The stunning actress has now filed a police report against the shutterbugs claiming false imprisonment.

She claims the photographers surrounded her car and prevented her from driving off while they snapped away furiously.

Reese had just finished a morning workout at Los Angeles' exclusive Brentwood Gym, when the incident occurred.

A source close to the 'Legally Blonde' star is quoted by website E Online as saying: "Her trainer had to help her get past the paparazzi so she could get into her car. Then they boxed her in on all sides."

When Witherspoon eventually managed to drive away, she was immediately pursued by around six vehicles which, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, were "driving aggressively and almost cutting her off at times".

Reese's terrifying ordeal didn't stop when she got home as one car parked across her gate stopping her from entering.

The aggressive photographers were eventually chased away by the actress's private security guards who then ushered the shaken star inside where she immediately phoned police.
