R&B superstar Alicia Keys and her rapper husband Swizz Beatz are celebrating the arrival of their first child, Egypt Dean.

The pair expressed their joy via Twitter over the weekend, with proud father Swizz Beatz saying:

“I’m so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life”.

Twenty-nine-year-old Keys followed suit, saying:

"There is no word to properly describe LOVE, to describe BLISS, to express a FEELING like this!!!

"Thank U 4 your love, support and prayers!"

Keys married the rapper, real name Kasseem Dean, in July of this year.

The couple met whilst working on writing and producing Whiney HoustonÂ’s album, I Look to You.

Beatz already has three other children from previous relationships.
