R&B star Chris Brown has smashed a window in a violent outburst after appearing on Good Morning America in the US, it has been claimed.

Brown flew into a 'violent rage' after being questioned live on air about his assualt on popstar and ex girlfriend, Rihanna.

The singer, who was on the show to promote his new album, was so angered by host Robin Robert's questions that the stormed off stage.

Entertainment website TMZ is reporting that he then began to scream, before smashing a window in his dressing room.

It has also been claimed that staff had to intervene after Brown, who is currently on probation, confronted a producer.

Twenty-one-year-old Brown tweeted after the alleged incident:

"I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there [sic] bulls**t."

The star has since taken the post down, replacing it with:

"All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!

"Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!! Key Word ( music) !!! Love y'all."

Last month, a judge in Los Angeles relaxed a restraining order against Brown, meaning that he can now have contact with the Bajan singer, as long as he doesn't "harass, annoy or molest her".
