The Big Brother housemates have been told about this week's task by a soldier who abseiled into the garden and left a special package.
The house will become a boot camp for the week, in which two housemates will lead privileged lives as Sergeant and the other six will carry out assignments as privates.
Once the respective ranks have been decided the Sergeants are required to ensure the Privates succeed in their assignments. Should they fail then both Sergeants will be put up for eviction.
However, should they succeed then all the Privates will be put up for eviction.
The chosen two will be sleeping in a special Sergeants' Mess - a secret bedroom adjacent to the current bedroom. The rest of the housemates will be sleeping in their own beds with duvets replaced by itchy blankets.
Privates will have to survive on basic army rations while the Sergeants will dine on good food. Indeed, Sergeants can also ring a bell to summon a Private.
It all promises to add to conflicts in the house.
