A couple of dozen fans were lucky enough to have witnessed enigmatic pop star Prince perform just for them in London on Tuesday night.
The evening started in the home of a singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas where the singer held a press conference. He then performed an intimate set to a few dozen people.
It was followed by another performance at the Electric Ballroom in Camden which had a capacity of 1,100 which is still small given the pop icon’s standing in the music world. After the location had been confirmed by his manager, Kiran Sharma, people queued outside the venue but only a lucky few made it inside.
Prince has been keeping his fans on their toes after he announced series of gigs at unnamed venues. He performed a number of hits songs as well as his newly released single PretzelBodyLogic.
At Camden’s Electric Ballroom, he performed songs from his forthcoming album Plectrum Electrum with backing band 3RDEYEGIRL. Among the audience were members of Mumford and Sons.
Asked about the details of his next performance, Prince said: “We'll work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues.
