Pokemon Rumble U, the first Wii U game to support Near Field Communication technology will be released on August 15th on European Wii U eShop and the American eShop from August 29th for $17.99. UK pricing is yet to be revealed.
The game will be supported by a selection of NFC-enabled Pokemon Toys sold in GameStop. Rumble U figures include Pikachu, Victinin, Deozys, Eevee, and Genesect each sold for £2.60. The toys are optional and all 649 in-game Pokemon can be caught without them.
Pokemon Rumble U, which is the latest game in the Pokemon Rumble Series, is a spinoff of the main Pokemon franchise. It is designed to turn the Pokemon into small toys that the player controls. The toys go through stages defeating other Pokemon in a beat-em-up-style adventure.
