Hollywood veteran actor Dave Madden, who was a fixture of on 1970s television, has died on Thursday morning at the age of 82.
According to TMZ, the actor died of congestive heart and kidney failure and passed away in Fruit Cove, Florida.
Although he appeared in different shows over the years, he was best known for his role of Reuben Kincaid in The Partridge Family. Reuben was the relative of the musical family and was often the target of playful hijinks by the younger characters.
After retiring from show-business, Dave lived in Florida with his wife, Sandy, where he wrote and published his memoirs Reuben on Wry: The Memoirs of Dave Madden. Aside from playing the role of Reuben, Dave also appeared on other shows, which include Rowan & Martins Laugh-in, and most recently, guest starting on Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and Boy Meets World.
Despite finding fame, Dave preferred the quiet life. In 2009, he said: 'Well I've always said that fame and fortune - the two things that one seems to go after when they go into show-business - they want to be famous and they want to make a lot of money - I found that making a lot of money was suddenly not as important. Making enough money was important, but not necessarily making a lot.
'And fame was not at all what it was cracked up to be as far as I was concerned. I found fame to be somewhat of a prison. The more famous you were, the smaller the cell that you had to live in.'
