At least 70 people have died due to a building collapsing in Bangladesh on Wednesday morning, 24thApril. It is thought that at least 200 people were injured, as reported by the BBC.
Officials confirmed that at least 70 people lost their lives because of the collapse in Savar, and also that individuals were trapped.
Emergency teams as well as troops are attending the scene where there is believed to be much rubble from the building, which was made of eight floors.
Also, volunteers are understood to be assisting with the rescue mission as there is a search for those people who may have survived.
As of time of press it has not been confirmed what may have caused the collapse.
A building collapsed in the capital of Bangladesh in 2010, which claimed the lives of at least 25 individuals. Others were injured as a result of this.
Bangladesh is one country which produces many garments. It is believed that many companies use the products in order to help them to be successful, given the costs involved.
Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, and is considered by some to be a major city in South Asia. It is situated close to the Buriganga River.
