US actress Jodie Foster, who confirmed that she was gay in a speech at last year’s Golden Globe Awards, has officially tied the knot to her photographer girlfriend Alexandra Hedison over the weekend, as confirmed by the actress’s representative.
The Silence of the Lambs actress had previously acknowledged her long-time partner, Cydney Bernard, from whom she had already separated and with whom she had two sons. They ended their 20-year relationship in 2008.
Then, Foster and Hedison, who previously dated US comedian and chat-show host Ellen DeGeneres, began dating last year.
No other information about the wedding was released.
Jodie Foster shot to fame starring alongside Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver 1976, securing an Oscar nomination for her role as an underage prostitute. More gritty roles followed with Oscar wins for playing a rape victim in 1988's The Accused and the blockbuster thriller The Silence of the Lambs.
