Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr split after six years

The star couple has confirmed rumours of their estrangement by releasing a joint statement that they have indeed parted ways.

In April, supermodel Miranda Kerr gave hints that her 3-year marriage with actor Orlando Bloom wasn’t perfect. In an interview with Cleo magazine, she said: "Everyone has their challenges. Any relationship you're in takes work. No matter what else is going on we'll always be in each other's lives because we are a family. I'm so grateful for that.”

Now, it seems that those challenges were strong enough to break her marriage. She and Orlando Bloom have released a joint statement confirming rumours that they have separated.

The statement between the model and the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star reads: "Despite this being the end of their marriage they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."

The couple made their first public appearance in April 2008 at Sydney’s Doncaster Day at the Randwick Racecourse. They quietly married in July 2010 and welcomed their son, Flynn, on January 2011.

The last time the couple was photographed together in public was on September 19 at Bloom’s Broadway opening of Romeo and Juliet.

The news came after Kerr lost her lucrative David Jones endorsement deal and her much feted role as a Victoria Secret “angel.”
